Boys swimming: With more than 200 high school boys competing in 133 races here Saturday afternoon, one might think the Waubonsie Valley Aqua Pentathlon is a day of chaos. But in reality, it is a relaxed and fun event.

'A man in sand'
In his most recent blog posts, Steve Panella shows a series of self-portraits in which his eyes were closed. His head is illuminated and his face looks peacefully at rest.
