Animal rescue group sets adoption record

Help Save Pets (HSP) set a record in 2008, arranging 1,000 pet adoptions. The nonprofit, all-volunteer, no-kill, animal rescue serves Plainfield and surrounding suburbs.

Wrestling: Lockport High School's wrestling team is experiencing an historic season and they're enjoying every minute of it. Coach Joe Williams' squad has the unusual approach of going out and having fun when they compete, but so far it's difficult to argue with their success.

L-W East's Kosola has the heart

Girls Basketball: Heart, for ages, has been the ultimate compliment applied by girls basketball coaches. Heart was something Lincoln-Way East's Jim Martin never worried about before in regards to senior guard Nellie Kosola.

Nothing Plainfield Central would do Monday could adjust to Brianne Vandenberg. The 5-8 junior connected on 5-of-8 shots from three-point range to score a career-high 23 points as Providence rolled to a 71-31 nonconference rout.
