STNG NEWS ALERTS ::
The Todd familly of Naperville won the 33rd annual "Yule Log Hunt" Sunday at Morton Arboretum. Then it was up to Ron Nowicki of Downers Grove and Dick Winans of Glen Ellyn to make sure it fit into the fire. Half will be saved for next year's event. (Herb Shenkin/For The Sun)
Cade Todd, 6, didn't let the bone-chilling cold stop him from christening a 7-foot log with a healthy dose of red wine Sunday at Morton Arboretum. Cade, along with his parents Mike and Lisa, sister Tara, 9, and brother Ryan, 11, were the winners in the Aboretum's 31st Annual Yule Log Hunt. More than 200 people participated in the event this year.

The images are eerily foreboding, and they are his last. The 34-year-old artist died Nov. 29 from multiple, self-inflicted stab wounds.
